Extinct Birds Project
The Extinct Birds Project is available for scheduling for 2018 through 2020. It incorporates an exhibition, publication and programming. The Project examines collecting practices, causes for extinction and the politics of categorizing endangered species. It also includes specific information about eighteen extinct bird specimens and their collectors as well as an overview of our status as we stand on the brink of the next mass extinction period. The exhibition and book will premiere on August 17, 2018 at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History in Jamestown, New York.
Alberto Rey is a painter, filmmaker, writer, fly fishing guide, distinguished professor and founder/director of a youth fly fishing program and he has been involved in environmental art for the past twenty years. Jason Dilworth is an environmentally-conscious graphic designer, outdoorsman, cyclist and professor who works on global design projects. For more information, please visit designersandforest.us, www.jasondilworth.com and www.bagmatiriverartproject.com.
Jason and Alberto have collaborated on several projects in the past including one on the Bagmati River in Kathmandu and are currently working with the United States Forest Service and Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History to document the good work being done by communities in New Mexico to protect the national forests.

-159 Linear Feet (72 feet of artwork with 57 feet of spacing - 3 feet between paintings)
-The complete series is 18 bird paintings and 2 egg paintings ( 8 of the paintings are now in private collections). The recent egg paintings are not includes in this website.
-Includes "Extinct Birds Project" publication
Cost $3,000, plus shipping and insurance
Artist and graphic designer are available for lectures and programming. Honorarium variable depending on programming and expenses.
